Stillorgan RFC 1st XV v Old Belvedere

Sunday 12 March | Three Rock Rovers at 3pm | Metro Division 3

Third placed Stillorgan welcome fifth place Old Belvedere to Three Rock on Sunday afternoon, in the final league game of the season for both teams. Last weekend saw Bective concede their game against our 1st XV, so the firsts haven't been in action since the defeat to Old Wesley on 25 February. A win for the 1st XV will see the firsts capture 3rd place in Metro Division 3.

Old Belvedere come into this game on the back of two league losses to Wesley and Wanderers, and will want to end their season on a high. The 1st XV will turn their attention to the O'Connell cup game versus Clontarf post completion of the league season, and will be intent on a strong performance on Sunday to prepare for cup travails.

Best of luck to our 1st XV this weekend.

Old Wesley v Stillorgan RFC 2nd XV

Saturday 11 March | Donnybrook Stadium at 3pm | Metro Division 9

The 2nd XV are on the cusp of their best ever league performance and are now in the final strait of their season, with just three games remaining. Games don't come much tougher than this weekend's fixture - away to league leaders Wesley at Donnybrook Stadium! The teams are neck and neck in the league - with 9 wins and 2 losses for both this season (Wesley have one more bonus point than the 2nd XV, hence their higher league standing). The sides met in the reverse fixture at Three Rock Rovers back in November, with Stillorgan edging the contest 15-11.

A win for the 2nd XV on Saturday will see the team take a huge step towards a league final, but Wesley are a very strong team, and a tight encounter is expected. A loss for the 2nd XV may allow AIB and Clontarf back into league contention, so a positive result on Saturday is imperative!

Best of luck to captain Ross Durnin and his 2nd XV this weekend.

3rd XV - Free Weekend

Our 3rd XV enjoy another weekend off - they are next in action at home to St. Mary's on 25 March. Despite the lack of gametime the 3rds have been putting in plenty of regular training and additional training - many squad members continue to workout at Irish Altitude Chambers in addition to regular Tuesday and Thursday training.

In addition to training and matchday preparation, the 3rd XV are keeping a keen eye on the results of other teams in their league. While the 3rds have just one league game remaining,  St. Mary's have 2 games (versus high flying Bective and the 3rds on 25 March), while Normans have 3 remaining games (versus Monkstown, Emerald Warriors and St. Mary's). These teams will take points off each other so a photo finish is likely on the final day of the league campaign!
